The History

La Camilluccia stands in a charming atmosphere among the twelve scopes of the countryside of the province of Novara.

The main structure of the villa/castle, which dates back 1770, was originally built for use as a parish recreational centre as well as a place of oration and pryare.. This is what is known from the Parish records of Cavallirio. It was call "Isola San Rocco" (Saint Roco Island)

In 1867, it became the property of the Morini Brothers.

The standing above the roof of La Camilluccia dates back 1769 and it’s considered to be of great historic and artistic value.

Between 1944 and 1948 extension, recovery and restoration works were carried out on the building. This was passionately done by the building Surveyor Ettore Bobbio from Novara.

The tower, which was originally round, ruined and only a few metres high, was modified with flat-topped merlon and its hight was raised to 25 metres.

The paintings and fresco paintings were done by Professore Pietro Gaddia and Mr. Eldo Andreoletti from Cavallirio.

The Gallarati family coat of arm is a golden shield split into four squares and has two black crowned eagles...

...and two crowned pillars against a Silver background. Each pillar has a grape tree climb all round it up to the top, full of clusters of grapes.

There is a right-hand tilted crest over the shield which contains white and light blue furthers.

The grape tree was the first to be drawn, only for the pillars to included later by the order of Prospero Colonna, commander general of of the then Spanish troops stationed in Italy. The eagles were divided into four parts on the permission of Carlo Vth
